  I answered his/her question the moment after I read it. I didn't read it, delay until you answered also, then answer myself to contradict you. I simply gave an official WT web link that people could use without causing inconvenience to brothers like you and that do not require any payment such as expressed gratitude.

  Your post is a mere "disagreeable comment" to me.

  I am sorry you feel that way. I find your persistent requests for attention and gratitude disagreeable, as well, so we have something in common.

  NWT changes translation to not pray to Jesus

  the kingdom interlinear translation uses the westcott-hort text, and that's how it reads in the kit.

  How's your meeting attendance? You know, the KH is where holy spirit (note the lowercase) and directives from Governing Body (note the caps) are found. Also, have you been studying the Bible without any WT literature? Be careful or you may resort to believing the doctrines of mainstream Christianity.

  I like it. I too, like not naming the cult we belonged to. To me, it is more important to educate people to recognise cults by their attributes.

  Please explain the point of being Good?

  i never understood the point of being good and righteous if the only punishment for not doing so was "nothing" i would die and nothing would happen.

  just nothing, no hell, no pain, no regret... just nothing.. on the other hand if i am good.... i have to deal with the jw's and their rules and boring meetings forever!!!

  no worldly girls to sneak around with on saturday night.. no keg parties to sneak off too on friday?....

  old timers may remember that the wt used to print up "reports" of the assemblies in paperback booklet form during the late forties to early sixties.

  (this predates my memory, btw.

  ) i have a copy of the 1963 report on the "everlasting good news" assembly of jehovah's witnesses.

  My Wife's SSD Got Cut Off

  this morning, i came to discover in great shock that my wife's ssd has been stopped.. yesterday, i noticed her ssd wasn't automatically deposited as it usually does every 3rd of the month.. .

  this morning i checked again and it still wasn't there.

  so i got on vp and called to inquire what's going on with her ssd.

  Great article/post. To me, now, it begs the question: With the traditional cash flow avenues drying up, what can they do next to maintain the borg?

  It is my belief that every single organization's overriding goal is maintaining its own existence. All stated organizational goals are secondary or tertiary to that one overriding goal to just keep going. So the traditional means of preaching keeps the status quo and protects the borg in many ways but what it doesn't do, in fact what it is decreasing in doing at a dramatic rate, is bringing in cash. So now what?

  my theory is the year was 1939. he came down with great anger and he like on the past went after the jew (that's another story which i will get into later).

  The moment I knew it was crap....

  already had doubts from the time i got pubes... but i was about 15 and we were studying the revelation "book" for the upteenth time.

  i realized for every actual bible verse they qouted there was 2-3 paragraphs of conjecture, assumption, faulty logic and just plain stupidity.

  that's when i began to plan my escape.

  I'm with nuggett. I've known about the crap in there for decades but they train you to put all that on a shelf, trust the borg, and wait on Jehovah. Eventually, though, the shelf gets too full and crashes down. I can probably pinpoint the last four or five straws that contributed to breaking the camel's back but there wasn't just one single thing that killed the borg for me.

  That said, I CAN say that a single post here killed the Bible for me.
